ProRail – Spoorburg Grou

ProRail is the Dutch government organization responsible for the construction, maintenance, management, and safety of the national railway network, covering approximately 7,000 km of track. ProRail asked Controllab to provide a simulation model of the railway bridge in Grou. This model focuses on the hydraulic cylinder used to rotate the bridge. The purpose of the digital twin model was to recreate the bridge’s primary behavior and to use it to implement and verify new control strategies for the hydraulic cylinder. Particular attention was given to the design of the control law for the rotating cylinder, as peaks in the hydraulic pressure were observed during the opening and closing of the bridge.
