Controllab welcomes new interns, Welcome aboard!
We are pleased to announce that Zico, Jasmijn and Alexander will be joining our team. We are very excited to have them on board and look forward to sharing their final results with you. Now, let’s get to know them a little better.
Meet Zico,
“Hi, my name is Zico, I am a second year Msc Robotics student at the University of Twente. During both my bachelors and masters I became interested in the field of control engineering. That is why I am excited to be doing an internship on motion-compensation control at Controllab for the coming 14 weeks.
In the coming 14-weeks I hope to get to know Controllab whilst working on a simulation of a gangway. During my internship I will investigate novel control strategies using model based controller systems. Next to this I am happy to have this opportunity to gain working experience at Controllab.”
Meet Jasmijn,
“Hello, my name is Jasmijn Oude Nijhuis and I am currently in the second year of my Master’s degree in Robotics at the University of Twente. As part of my studies, I have the opportunity to do a 14-week internship, and I am very happy to be able to do this at Controllab! Over the past few years, I have developed an interest in modeling and simulating dynamical systems, so I am excited to have the opportunity to explore this further during my internship at Controllab.
During my internship, I will focus on the modeling and control of complex mechanical structures on ships and their interaction with seawater, waves and currents. I am looking forward to learning new things throughout the internship and becoming a part of the Controllab team.”
Meet Alexander,
“My name is Aleksandar, and I’m currently doing my Bachelor’s in Creative Media and Game Technology at Saxion University of Applied Sciences. I’m in my 3rd year now, which means it’s time for my 20-week internship. I chose Controllab for the chance to work on their realistic training simulations. I’ve always enjoyed learning about and applying good coding conventions and software architecture in my spare time, and it’s exciting to now put that into practice on real projects.
Over the next 20 weeks, I’ll start by researching existing solutions and best practices, then use that as a foundation to redesign Controllab’s Unity toolbox and add quality of life features to their simulations. I’m looking forward to learning and gaining hands on experience along the way!”
